Three stakeholders have cargo in transit on a ship. The cargo can be anything, such as citrus, citrine, citronella, or Citroëns. Use the sliders to the right in order to set the value of cargo owned by each stakeholder. The pie chart represents the share of goods owned by each stakeholder.
Calamity! A crisis has brought our journey to the brink of ruin! Some of the cargo must be sacrificed to save the rest. Use the sliders to the right in order to set the value of cargo voluntarily lost by each stakeholder. The boxes represent the value of cargo jettisoned from each stakeholder's stores.
Great news! We have passed through the worst of the threat. Now comes the work of figuring out how to allocate the remaining goods to each stakeholder to compensate for disproportionate losses. Click each button in the top right corner of this box to visualize loss and remainder in different ways.
In order to calculate how much any given stakeholder can keep after the end of the journey, we need to know the stakeholder's share of the cargo and how much cargo remains. The mathematical expression looks like this:
We then need to insert the appropriate parameters from Acts I and II into this expression, like so:
Now use the "Stakeholder Focus" selector at the top of this box to see how this works from a stakeholder's perspective.
